Yashdeep Gupta
Yashdeep Gupta is a practicing Endocrinologist and is currently working as an Additional Professor in Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India. He has completed his training in Internal Medicine (M.D.) from PGI, Chandigarh in 2008 and his D.M. degree from AIIMS, New Delhi in 2018. He is an active clinical researcher, and has obtained 6 research grants as Principal Investigator so far in last 4 years from government organizations. His research work spans from prospective observation studies (longitudinal cohorts) to implementation and Clinical trials. His core research area is Diabetes and pregnancy, and his research work has helped in understanding spectrum of disease burden after childbirth in women with prior gestational diabetes mellitus. He holds independent 2 grants in this area, and is Co-Investigator in 3 large studies related to gestational diabetes. He is establishing a large family cohort of women with diabetes in pregnancy, her spouse, and their offspring in the period after childbirth in South Asia. He is currently involved in 2 family intervention trials in this area (women with prior GDM). The research data generated by him helped in formulating the design of the LIVING study in which he was Co-Investigator. He runs gestational diabetes clinic at his hospital. He has 160 publications so far, and about 40 are related to gestational diabetes. He has supervised 4 DM Dissertations (Endocrinology fellows) related to gestational diabetes in the last 5 years. His thoughts related to gestational diabetes have been published in leading journals like Lancet Diabetes, Diabetes Care, and American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
