Hannah Wesley
Hannah Wesley is an early career researcher qualified in epidemiology, public health, and dentistry. She is passionate about high-quality research and has been involved in gestational diabetes mellitus research. She aspires to witness evidence-based clinical practice and empirical policymaking in the Indian health arena. After her master's degree, Hannah identified her career path in non-communicable disease research. Since 2017 she has been working with the Madras Diabetes Research Foundation in Chennai, India. She has been involved in and coordinated the implementation of the project titled ‘STratification of Risk of Diabetes in Early pregnancy’ (STRiDE) across three south Indian cities. Following this, she is involved in two other research projects on gestational diabetes mellitus. In 2019, she pursued her life’s dream and enrolled for a doctoral degree at the School of Medicine, Deakin University, Geelong, Australia. Her doctoral thesis is on the burden of gestational diabetes mellitus occurring during early pregnancy in Asian Indian women. Ever since her epidemiology training, she had a fascination for systematic reviews and meta-analysis, hence she is involved in four systematic reviews- one of which is published in Acta Diabetologia in 2021.
